Flower & Vegetable Show 2020
The Schedule is below.
SHOLVER AND MOORSIDE COMMUNITY TEAM
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic we are unfortunately not able to hold our 4th annual Flower and Vegetable Show which was scheduled to take place on Saturday 15th August 2020 so we are going virtual !!!
It’s a shame we can’t have our usual event which has been growing from strength to strength each year but we still want to get our community engaged even if we can’t physically put on the event – so here’s a call for all growers, crafters, bakers and children to get involved – PLEASE !!!!
For all entries, you should email a photograph of your vegetable, bloom, home produce etc to email@example.com between 1st and 14th August 2020.
If you don’t have access to the internet or don’t have a suitable camera you are invited to ask a relative, friend or neighbour to take them – at a safe distance of course.
During the period of the lockdown we know that lots of residents have been working hard in their gardens and enjoying the fine weather and may have discovered new found craft skills.
So we ask you to check the show schedule for ideas of which classes to enter. (maximum entry is 2 photos per individual per class). Entry is free.
We also have a special class for entries from Streets, community gardens, allotments and similar ventures.
One prize of garden centre or Tesco voucher for winners of each class. winners in the Children’s classes will receive a Google Play voucher
All entries and virtual winners will be posted on the Sholver and Moorside Community team website and Facebook page.
Any queries or if you would like to receive a show schedule please contact Joyce Ward on 07890 501961, at the above email address or via Facebook Messenger.
Thank you very much

We are making every effort to open the Community Centre as soon as possible. We hope to see you all at the Centre when it is safe to do so.
From Thursday 19th March 2020 The Community Centre will be SHUT.
The Sholver and Moorside Community Team (SMCT) has evolved from a group of local residents, volunteers and professionals who initially met to discuss concerns about the possible closure of the Local Authority youth centre in Sholver. Now known as the Sholver and Moorside Community Centre, it is once again being brought back to life as a thriving focal point for community activities and services.
We are working to ensure that the Centre becomes a sustainable community centre, providing a range of activities and services for the residents of Sholver and Moorside. We hope to take a long lease of the Centre from Oldham Council.
The Centre has the support of numerous partners, who wish to support all our aims.
